REMOVAL OF "MOLES," SKIN TAGS, AND OTHER BENIGN SKIN LESIONS:

There are certain benign growths of the skin which a patient would like to have removed for non-medical or cosmetic purposes.  The removal process can be as minimally invasive as having the lesion "frozen" with liquid nitrogen or having it "burned" with electrodessication (a radiofrequency which causes the skin to get very hot).  Other removals must be performed surgically because of where they are located within the skin.  This involves a local anesthetic and the use of a scalpel to "shave" the lesion flush with the skin or to excise it fully requiring the remaining skin to be sutured (stitched) together.  The type of procedure required for lesion removal depends upon the type of lesion and where it is located on the body.  THE REMOVAL OF CERTAIN BENIGN LESIONS IS NOT COVERED BY INSURANCE.  Please schedule an appointment to discuss your specific treatment options.
