We have a very strict COVID-19 protocol in place since reopening the office. When patients arrive, they remain in their vehicle and call the office. Our number is posted outside. Via phone, we screen patients for COVID-19 symptoms, confirm they haven’t tested positive or had contact with anyone who has in the past 14 days, and also confirm no travel to a state on the PA travel advisory list in the past 14 days. To protect our patients and staff and with the utmost caution, we ask patients that fail any part of the screening to reschedule. In addition, we do not utilize the waiting room. Patients are immediately taken back to their rooms. Medical assistants also remain with their patient during the entire process to open doors, so the patient does not have to touch anything in the office.
Please bring your photo ID and Insurance Cards with you to every visit. We will make a copy of both during the check in process. We do this to confirm insurance eligibility.

Our staff has been trained to understand many insurance company policies, but they DO NOT have all the answers about your specific benefits. There are just too many and they change their coverages yearly. You should call your insurance company with any questions. Their number is posted on the back of your card. They will be able to give you more detailed information about your coverage.
We can offer cash for service to patients that do not have insurance or patients with insurance carriers that we are not in network with. You can call the office for our Self Pay Fee Schedule.
We accept cash, check, visa, mastercard, and care credit
You will receive a statement from our outside billing company for any portion of the visit that wasn’t covered by your insurance. You can submit a check or credit card payment by mail or call the office to pay by card over the phone. If you have issues that prevent you from paying the full balance due, please contact our office so we can help you find a solution.
We understand that emergencies do occur and are taken into consideration. However, we have invested substantial resources to provide care for you and had staff members waiting for your arrival. The courtesy of a cancellation phone call prior to your appointment time would be most helpful to provide care to other patients waiting to be seen. We request 24-hour cancellation. We will charge a $25 missed appointment fee for your SECOND and each additional offense. If a surgical procedure or Cosmetic visit is missed, a $50 fee will be charged for you SECOND and each additional offense.
  • Due to our COVID-19 protocols focused appointments to address specific concerns are booking out about 4-5 weeks. If you have an urgent rash or lesion of concern we will schedule the appointment and add you to our waitlist. We get regular cancellations and fill them daily from the wait list.
  • Full cancer screen/mole checks are longer appointments. The provider will examine the entire body for skin cancer and abnormal moles. These appointments take longer than a focused visit and can book 2-3 months out.

The cost of your visit can vary widely, depending on your individual insurance coverage and what procedures are performed at the time of your visit.  It is important to know what your plan’s annaual deductible and coinsurance are.  We will bill your insurance for an office visit and any procedures that may be performed.  Because we are examining your skin to evaluate any skin cancers, we strive to provide quality care by treating any suspicious lesions when we see them.  If you are hesitant about treatment due to the cost, please speak with one of the medical assistants or the physician.

Full skin exams are billed to your insurance company as an office visit.  These are not billed as “preventative” or “physicals”, so your insurance company will not deny for calendar year.  If your plan covers office visits, they most likely will also cover a full skin exam.

Copays are determined by your insurance company based on the codes that the provider submits to them.  In dermatology, there is a copay required for office visits and frequently for treatment sessions.  If you have any questions regarding this, please contact our billing staff and/or your insurance company.

When you have 2 insurances, it is very important that you coordinate between them BOTH to determine who is primary and who is secondary.  Our insurance staff will not know which insurance to submit to first without your instruction.  It is extremely time consuming and complicated to switch insurance orders after claims have been submitted.  A charge may be incurred for having to rebill different insurances if you have instructed us to use the incorrect one.
